believe in guardian angels: Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, and Islam.  Figurines have been created for all of them.  Islamic writings declare everyone has two guardian angels, one for day and one for night shift; they record the good and bad deeds for judgment day. Christianity embraced guardian angels and inspired figurines like no other religion.  The love of guardian angels and their figurines came from the people not the church.

According to mythology, all guardian angels are taken from the lowest ranks of the celestial hierarchy. The Greeks believe that God sends a personal guardian angel known as their daimon assigned to each person.
A seventeenth-century mystic confirmed, each child at birth is given to him by God and ordained to be his guardian angel that it might guard him and protect him. In the first academic research into guardian angels, almost one third of those who contacted the researcher reported seeing traditional angels with white gowns and wings, like a majority of figurines.  According to a Time magazine poll in 1993, forty six percent of Americans are certain they have their own guardian angel to watch over them. A poll by Self magazine in 1997 found eight seven percent believe in guardian angels.

This would not be complete without mentioning real persons who might be guardian angels who have no figurines.  Number one: a wildlife rehabilitator named Dale Iuzzini, who died in March 2006.  She took in thousands of injured wild birds and animals, rehabilitated them and released then back to the wild.  Number two: “The Guardian Angels” are volunteers who provide public safety and education in our neighborhoods streets, schools and cyberspace. They really do deserve their very own guardian angel figurines!
