Halloween FigurinesHalloween Figurines are today’s version of centuries old occult pagan religious practices of the Romans and the Druids.
The Druids, an order of the Celtics, named of their god of the dead “Samhain”. They believed that on the eve of the Celtic New Year (October 31) the Devil, spirits, witches, ghosts, fairies, elves and the soul of the dead of the living, giving us an abundant of representations from which to create Halloween figurines. Cats became Halloween figurines due to the fact they were considered by the druids to be holy animals of reincarnated people that had done evil deeds and were being punished.
The Halloween figurines of “jack-o-lanterns” are the illustrations of an old Irish symbol of damned souls. According to legend Jack, because of his greediness was incapable of entering heaven and he had played practical jokes on the Devil, so he couldn’t enter hell. He was condemned to wander the earth with a lantern for eternity warning people not to offend the Devil. This makes for some very unusual Halloween figurines. A change in the meaning of some of our Halloween figurines took place about 600 years ago, during the Middle Ages. The powerful Roman Catholic Church allowed some pagan feasts to be carried over by new converts to Christianity making the change somewhat easier.
