Horse Figurines
Horse Figurines represent most of the over 300 breads in the world today.
Horse figurines are found in nearly every country in the world. In 2004, the horse was voted the World’s forth favorite animal by 73 countries, which accounts for the popularity of horse figurines.
Figurines of the first domesticated horse came from the vast grassy plains of central Asia, somewhere between 3000 BC and 4000 BC, when they were being used for meat, milk and mobility.
The history of the horse and figurines has played a prominent role in farming, the arts,folklore, religion, mobilization and in combat throughout the millenniums.
Many distinct horse types and figurines have been developed to perform specialized task such as;miniature horses to be kept as pets, larger and more muscular ones for pulling power, like needed for agriculture, and the lighter faster animals for riding and racing.

Today the height of a horse is measured in “hands” (a hand being 4”) to the highest point of the shoulders, if this is less than 14.2 hands it is considered a pony, a Shetland is around 10 hands. This measurement is common throughout the English speaking world.

On the other end of the scale the Clydesdale, Shire and the Belgain are usually 16 to 18 hands and weigh 1500 to 2300 pounds, some even larger with an ancestry that traces back to the Flemish stallions in the 18th century.
The Clydesdale was developed in Scotland for the heavy hauling in the coal fields and in the streets of Glasgow.
Today these horses all have four white stockings and pull the Budweiser wagon, a tradition of Anheuser-Bush since 1933, with figurines of each horse, separately or figurines of all 8 of them and the wagon together.
